EC Markets Joins Liverpool FC to Celebrate International Women’s Day

Mar 10, 2026 1:20 PM

On 4 March, Liverpool FC hosted a special International Women’s Day event at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, the training ground of Liverpool FC Women (LFCW). The event brought together leaders from sport, business, and community organisations to discuss mentorship, leadership, and the importance of giving back.

As an official partner of Liverpool FC, we proudly supported the event, with Laoura Salveta, Head of Brand Partnerships, invited to join the panel discussion.

Part of Liverpool FC’s wider International Women’s Day celebrations, the event created a platform for meaningful conversations around career development, mentorship, and representation in leadership across industries.

A Conversation Guided by “Give to Gain”

This year’s panel discussion was guided by the theme “Give to Gain,” encouraging speakers to reflect on the individuals and communities that supported their professional journeys.

The conversation explored how mentorship, coaching, and continuous learning play a crucial role in helping individuals grow, while also emphasising the importance of giving back and supporting future generations.

Panellists discussed:

  • The mentors and communities that shaped their careers
  • The importance of visible role models
  • How giving back can create opportunities for others
  • The value of collaboration and shared learning

The conversation reinforced a powerful message:

Progress is rarely achieved alone, it is built through networks of support, encouragement, and shared experience.

A Panel of Leaders Across Sport and Industry

The discussion brought together leaders from sport, media, and industry, including:

  • Jenny Beacham, Chief Financial Officer of Liverpool FC
  • Lisa Houten-Pool, Deputy CEO of Women in Football
  • Laoura Salveta, Head of Brand Partnerships at EC Markets
  • Harriet Prior, Presenter at Sky Sports Football

Each speaker shared perspectives from their respective fields, highlighting how mentorship and strong support networks help shape careers across sport, media, and business.

The Role of Partnerships in Driving Conversations

During the panel, Laoura Salveta reflected on her experience working across global brand partnerships and sponsorships, discussing how collaboration and shared values can create platforms that extend beyond traditional marketing partnerships.

The conversation demonstrated how initiatives such as Liverpool FC’s International Women’s Day event can bring together voices from different industries to inspire progress and encourage new opportunities for the next generation.

Community Impact Through Sport

The event also highlighted the work of the Liverpool FC Foundation, which continues to support communities through programmes focused on education, opportunity, and social inclusion.

Through initiatives like this panel discussion, Liverpool FC demonstrates how the power of sport can bring together leaders, advocates, and community organisations to inspire positive change.

As part of our wider partnership with Liverpool FC, there are also plans to work alongside the Liverpool FC Foundation on a number of upcoming initiatives aimed at supporting community programmes and creating new opportunities for engagement.

Supporting Platforms for Progress

Initiatives like this highlight how partnerships between sport and business can create meaningful platforms for mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.

Partnerships with Liverpool FC and organisations like it demonstrate how sport and business can come together to create platforms that extend beyond the pitch, inspiring leadership, mentorship, and meaningful community impact.
