Beat the Conditions: EC Markets x Liverpool FC Bring Market Volatility to Life

Financial markets move in unpredictable ways.

Our new campaign, Beat the Conditions, launched in collaboration with Liverpool FC, brings this reality to life through football.
The Idea Behind ‘Beat the Conditions’
Every trader encounters the same three conditions:
- Volatility: Rapid, unpredictable price movement
- Slippage: The gap between decision and execution price
- Low visibility: Unclear direction and reduced confidence
These conditions are a normal part of trading. What separates traders is how they react and adapt when conditions turn against them.
Beat the Conditions uses exaggerated, tongue-in-cheek football scenarios to visualise each condition. Crucially, it also shows how the EC Markets platform can help them respond.
Chaos on the Pitch with Liverpool FC
To bring this campaign to life, we created controlled chaos on the pitch.
Featuring Stefan Bajčetić, Andy Robertson, and Freddie Woodman, alongside influencer ScouseGK, we created two challenges that saw players face exaggerated, unpredictable conditions.
Beat the Conditions
ScouseGK stood in as goalkeeper as Bajčetić, Robertson, and Woodman tried to distract him from saving penalties using a garden hose, a giant fan, and a smoke machine.
These props represented three conditions:
- Water – Slippage
- Wind – Volatility
- Smoke – Low visibility
This game was designed to show how market volatility is manageable with the right trading mindset and tools.
Guess the Timer
The second challenge was about timing and precision.
Each Liverpool FC player went head-to-head with ScouseGK, attempting to stop a timer as close to five seconds as possible, without seeing the time on the clock.
Like in trading, success came down to timing, precision, and the ability to act decisively, without perfect information.
